Today on our way to church It was a normal Sunday im not paying attention just checkin Instagram before we walk into church and Cody looks over at me and said ''Did you see that?" I say "No." We pull into the church parking lot and he told me he saw this house on the way with a family tackling a huge project of yard work outside. He then asked me if we could go to the first hour of church and then go help them. I said sure not really knowing what the outcome of this would be. We pull out of the parking lot and go to there house. Cody rolled his window down and talked to the mom of the family and asked if we could help them with their yard work after we went to our first hour of church. She seemed kind of surprised but so thankful that we offered that to her and her family. After the first hour we went home, changed into work cloths and got to helping. Honestly when Cody asked me to do this I wasn't super stoked its Sunday and its freezing cold outside here in Utah...but how could I refuse to do something when my husband was so willing. When we first got there the family was so welcoming and seemed as if they haven't had visitors in a long time they showed us all of their animals and what they were doing to their new yard they even welcomed us into there home and wanted to show us everything. We became friends with these people and we also were able to help them with something they were struggling getting finished before the snow comes. Cody shared with me '' Were taught in church to be more like Christ so why would we just stay in church and be selfish in our nice cloths when we are aware of people that needed help?'' Christ wouldn't be doing that he would be out there helping people. Such a small and simple sacrifice on our part but also something that brought us so much joy. When your in the service of your fellow bein you are in the service of your God.
its so true! You guys are amazing thanks for serving others.
